These near round turquoise beads are from Kingman Turquoise Mine, Arizona, and from current mining operations. The focal chunk of turquoise is Hubei, from China, where turquoise mining dates back as far as 1700 BC. Four barrel shaped raw rubies adorn the strand offering a subtle pop of color along with three beautiful nice luster baroque pearls. The stainless steel paper clip chain and lobster clasp, solid stainless beads and sparkly rondelle will wear durably and are cost effective for this piece.
Turquoise is a prized gemstone for many reasons, mostly for personal reasons for the collector. The natural beauty of the many shades of blue to teal to turquoise is perhaps the number one reason. The fact that newly mined turquoise is becoming more rare and is considered, in may ways, the new gold or diamond as an investment makes it possibly the second reason it is prized.
I was lucky to have visited the Kingman Turquoise Mine store in Kingman, Az., back in late 2020 and feast my eyes on thousands of beads and jewelry made from the turquoise Colbaugh Processing created for sale in their little store on Route 66. My appreciation for this gorgeous rock from nature steadily increases over time. I absolutely love using it for creations because to me, to touch it, is indescribably special.
To the lucky wearer of this necklace, you will not be disappointed. The quality of these turquoise beads is something to behold and treasure.
