Sapphire Aquamarine Coral Choker

Necklace #25

Length: 16 ¼ “

This beautiful choker is loaded with faceted “rondelle” deep blue lab created Sapphires paired with a stunning faceted Aquamarine focal and tiny Pink Coral spacers. The 14/20 gold filled lobster clasp and spacers give this piece just the right finish.

Sapphire is September’s Virgo Birthstone.

I can’t get enough of this combination of gemstones as a perfect stand-alone statement choker or as the anchor layer that can be worn in combination with other favorite pieces of various lengths.

Sapphires are a type of corundum, which is a mineral made up of aluminum oxide. Trace elements like iron, titanium, and chromium give sapphires their characteristic color. Natural sapphires are formed over millions of years deep within the Earth’s crust, where they undergo intense heat and pressure.

In recent years, lab-created sapphires have become increasingly popular. These stones have the same chemical composition as natural sapphires but are grown in a controlled environment. As a result, they are more affordable than natural stones and are available in a wide range of colors.

Lab-grown sapphires are created using a process known as hydrothermal synthesis. In this process, aluminum oxide and other chemicals are heated in water until they form crystals
