Deep orange Carnelian “saucer” shaped beads are spaced with faceted Black Spinel and accented with Citrine and Turquoise and Carnelian ovals. Shiny stainless steel spacers, clasp and extender chain are hypoallergenic and will not tarnish.

Carnelian is a “Chalcedony” (pronounced cal-sed-ny) with the chemical compound of Quartz, silicon dioxide Si02. Carnelian gets its orange to red color from the presence of iron oxide impurities, particularly hematite.

With a Mohs hardness of 6.5 – 7 it is a durable stone, but we should always take great care when cleaning jewelry by using a soft damp cloth without chemicals.
