1.5mm faceted Citrine gradient from dark to light are accented with tiny pearls, 14/20 gold filled beads and a perfect center faceted 6mm Citrine tear drop. The gold filled star toggle clasp finishes off this choker perfectly.

Citrine is a quartz mineral that gets its yellow to orange color from traces of iron. The concentration of iron determines the shade of citrine. Golden yellow is considered the most prized shade. Natural citrine is rare therefore most citrine on the market is created by heat treating other types of quartz such as amethyst or smoky quartz. This process is done at temperatures between 470 and 560 degrees. Heat treated amethyst can produce a deep, rich, almost brown dark yellow or orange color, while heat treated smoky quartz produces a lighter yellow.

Interesting fact: Quartz makes up about 20% of the earth’s crust and about 12% of the land surface of earth.
