Good Egg Lapis Focal Statement Necklace with Paper Clip Chain

Necklace #35

Length: 20”

This statement necklace features a perfect Lapis Lazuli egg shaped focal surrounded by rich pink Rhodochrosite “tire” beads and Labradorite faceted “coins”. A radiant coin shaped pearl is set against round Rhodochrosite and sprinkled around the strand you’ll find tiny Lapis and Labradorite saucer spacers and faceted Sapphire rondelles. The stainless steel paper clip chain and toggle clasp give this
piece a strong hold and allow all the beads to show up when wearing.

The addition of the Lapis, Peridot and Sapphire really enhances the “labradorescence” and “chatoyancy” in the Labradorite’s lime green and blue colors.

Labradorite is a member of the feldspar family along with Moonstone and Sunstone. It is known for its iridescence, which is a type of sheen that causes it to display rainbow colored reflections when light hits it at certain angles. This is called labradorescence.

What is Chatoyance?

It is a phenomenon that causes a gem to have a band of light that appears to open and close when the gem is moved in the light. The term comes from the French phrase oeil de chat, which means “cat’s eye”
